Supernatural Ice

Sometimes God shows up in the most ordinary places—and does something extraordinary. A simple walk down the street. A whispered prayer for someone else. A moment that makes you laugh and say, “Only God could do that.”

In today’s blog, Christy Christopher reminds us that when we seek God’s kingdom first—when we pray beyond our own needs and lift our eyes to the people around us—He is faithful to take care of what concerns us. This story may begin with an ice maker, but it ends with a powerful reminder: God is attentive, personal, and eager to amaze those who walk with Him in faith.

When you step out and do something new—something different from your daily grind—and you sense God is leading you, you may be preparing the way for Him to amaze you.

Prayer-Walking Our Street

My husband and I felt impressed to begin prayer-walking our street. So each day, we’ve been walking and praying for whatever comes to mind as we go. We’ve prayed over marriages, sickness, peace, protection, and so much more.

One day while we were walking, Nathan began to pray specifically for appliances—furnaces and air conditioners—to work well and not break down. When you pray, you aren’t always aware of what happens later as a result. Sometimes, though, you do get to see the fruit.

An Unexpected Answer

Last summer, our ice maker stopped working. The water dispenser still functioned, so we simply bought ice and poured it into the bin.

That night—after we had prayed for our neighbors’ appliances—we had just gotten into bed when I heard a noise in the kitchen. Could it be? Yes. Our ice maker had started making ice again.

It has worked perfectly every day since.

We lay there laughing, amazed at what had just happened. It felt so thoughtful of God to heal our ice maker, especially since our prayers had been focused on the needs of others. And it made me wonder: if God cares enough to heal a broken ice maker, how much more does He care about healing broken lives?

Seeking First the Kingdom

Sometimes, when you are praying for other people’s needs, you may find miraculous provision for yourself. It brings to mind Jesus’ words:

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

Jesus was talking about food, drink, and clothing—our most basic physical needs. God is fully aware of what we require. I am convinced that when we prioritize His agenda, He faithfully takes care of ours.

That night, we weren’t thinking at all about our broken ice maker. We were focused on blessing others. Yet God didn’t forget what we needed.

Expanding God’s Kingdom

I want to encourage you not to fixate on what you need. Let God handle that. Instead, ask Him how you can expand His kingdom today. What need can you meet? Whose life can you touch with His love?

It’s in giving that we receive.

What if you began prayer-walking your neighborhood? What if you started speaking over the territory God has entrusted to you?

We don’t war against flesh and blood, but we are engaged in a very real spiritual battle. There are strongholds, structures, and strategies from hell that need to be torn down, uprooted, and overthrown. God desires to replace them with His own strongholds, structures, and strategies.

Take Your Territory

Take your territory, my friend. Intercede. Stand in the gap between what is and what God longs to bring forth. You have been called to expand His kingdom—to guard the land He has given you, to care for the people He loves, and to watch over their souls.

The Lover of your soul loves them too.

Many need to be rescued. Many need a loving hand to lift them into dignity and hope. You are the one He desires to use.

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men.” (1 Timothy 2:1)

“See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.” (Jeremiah 1:10)

God’s Whisper

Dear one,

My winds of change are blowing over you today. It is time for a shift in your thinking. As you focus on My intentions for the world around you, a curtain of provision will open. Things will be done for you in ways that are difficult to imagine now.

I know this is not a natural way to think—but did I ever ask you to rely on your natural mind alone?

You are My joy and delight. You are why I came to earth—to live, to die, and to rise again. I have given you authority to rule and reign over the territories around you. There are places still untapped, areas calling for your intercession. I desire your attention so I may teach you.

I have given you influence. Darkness must be driven from your territory. What comes out of your mouth will help determine whether light or darkness is allowed to remain. There are assignments meant for you to cancel, and My glory to declare in their place.

What is removed must be replaced with what is new and better. I have empowered you to bless and to chase out the curse upon your land.

Light overcomes darkness. Blessing overcomes curses. Joy overcomes sorrow. Faith overcomes fear.

You are a gallant warrior, and I am proud of your pursuit of My kingdom. Let us go deeper—and higher—together. Yes, it is possible.

As you are seated with Me in heavenly places, we will make history together, dear one.

This blog post is adapted from a chapter of Christy’s book, Incredible Intervention: Living Life in the Miracles of God.

On today’s episode, Carol McLeod and Christy Christopher explore the true nature of prayer as a living friendship with God rather than a religious obligation. They discuss the role of the Holy Spirit in guiding and strengthening our prayer life, why disappointment can arise when prayers feel unanswered, and how sincerity matters more than eloquence. Through Scripture, personal stories, and biblical examples, this conversation offers practical encouragement for anyone seeking to grow deeper and more confident in prayer.
