Perhaps our prayer this week should be, “Father … would You be Lord in America? Would You represent us as the Captain? Would You be in charge?”

We all deeply desire peace in our relationships, especially in our families and in our marriages, but we must desire it desperately enough to make it a high priority.

Life is renewed and hope is restored where joy and sorrow meet. Strength is found and peace is discovered as joy and sorrow are stirred together.

Take shelter under His goodness as you keep your eyes peeled for the miracle hidden in everyday moments.

Christmas is just too miraculous … too eternal … and too significant … to confine it to one calendar month in this paradigm known as “time”.

No matter what evil has been fostered by this dreaded virus of the 21st Century … no matter how politicians have mishandled it … no matter how the media has falsely reported about it … we serve a God who is still lovingly in control!

We are standing tall and resilient as the world topples around us. We are simply doing what God’s people have always done at every horrific crossroads in human history.

The long-term experience of being covered in circumstantial manure is only offensive momentarily because as time does its work in the makeup of the manure, a miracle happens.

Even though I know that autumn doesn't officially begin until later in the month, somehow the early days of September herald the beginning of fall, don’t they?

I am a great believer in preparing oneself for the future while being fully immersed in all that belongs to today. I believe that the way we can prepare for a healthy future is to live fully in the reality of the present.

August is God’s show and tell of His unmatched creativity and strategic forethought of provision for His children. August is the moment of the year when all of creation shouts a resounding cheer to the One who created the very first garden in history.

Our days are numbered and ordered. We have but so many. Not a day more. Not a day less … than God ordained.

It has never been about balance, it has always been about priorities.

When uncertainty runs rampant, our emotions can become unsettled. Seasons that test our faith tempt us to succumb to fear. However, God gives us tools to pivot instead of panic.

God places hopes and dreams inside of us for a reason, and it is our job to have the courage to believe that He will bring them to fruition, and that is when faith kicks in.
