Coming Home to God’s Will This Christmas
There’s something about the word home that stirs the deepest places of the heart. For many, it brings images of warmth, rest, and belonging. For others, it brings a quiet ache—longing for something they’ve never fully experienced.
But Christmas whispers a truth we all need to hear:
your true home has never been a place… it has always been His will.
When the angel visited Mary on an ordinary day in Nazareth, her entire world shifted. She was young, inexperienced, and surely not expecting a divine interruption. Yet when God revealed His plan, Mary did something extraordinary—she opened the door of her heart and welcomed His will inside.
Her response still echoes through eternity:
“May it be done to me according to Your word.”
—Luke 1:38
That moment wasn’t just the beginning of the Christmas story…
It was the beginning of home.
Home Is Where God’s Will Lives
Home is meant to be a place of peace, safety, and joy. But earthly homes—no matter how lovely—can fall short. Families change. Circumstances shift. Memories wound. Expectations crumble.
But when you settle yourself into God’s Word and His ways, something holy happens:
Your soul finds its address.
Your heart finds its rest.
Your life finds its purpose.
Mary wasn’t promised an easy journey. God’s will rarely comes wrapped in comfort. But it always comes wrapped in His presence—and that is what makes home home.
A Prayer for Your Heart This Season
If you’re longing for peace…
If you’re yearning for clarity…
If you’re searching for a place to belong…
Pray the same prayer Mary prayed:
“Lord, let it be to me according to Your Word.”
That surrender becomes your front door.
His presence becomes your shelter.
His Word becomes the fireplace where peace warms your soul again.
This Christmas, Come Home
Not to perfection.
Not to a memory.
Not to the pressures and expectations of the season.
Come home to the will of God.
Come home to the presence of Jesus.
Come home to the heart of the Father who has been waiting for you.
Friend, no matter what your December holds, may you discover that there is no place like home in His will… and no place like Jesus.
